In July at St. Luke’s we had a series of sermons talking about the Kingdom of Heaven language in Matthew’s Gospel. Noted Emerging Church author and speaker Brian McLaren shares some of his thoughts and beliefs about what it means to live a Kingdom kind of life here on earth. This is a message that the church needs to hear. Somehow the church has gained a fixation on conversion for the purpose of getting people into heaven. We need to counteract this fixation by practicing bringing the kingdom of God to earth, here and now. If we live out the kingdom now….conversion will happen from what people see, from what people hear, and from how people feel the love of Christ.
