These Devotions are the work of a community and not a single author.  We share them with you as we all wait in hope for the Nativity.

2 Peter 3:11-18

Twice in just a few lines Peter refers to waiting Personally, I’m very familiar with waiting. I wait for the light to change, I wait for the computer to boot up, I wait for the microwave to nuke my Lean Cuisine. Accompanying some of my waiting is an actual or at least a mental foot tapping or hand drumming. This “waiting business” is at times an endurance test marked by inactivity and impatience.

And what is Advent all about but waiting? But not the way I tend to practice it. I am brought up short by “while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace”. Not harried, not frazzled, but at peace. I’ll work at carrying that with me this season.
